Wild Flowers

Experiencing some hazy, hot & humid days here in New England, but was able to get out after some rain yesterday, so I took a stroll out through my backyard and found that some of the wildflowers had started to bloom, I was amazed that any of my shots came out clear with having to fight off a horde of hungry mosquitoes......oh well, the things we must endure for that perfect shot!

Taking a walk out in my backyard along the woods my sister spotted this rope, so of course we had to take some photos.
I don't know what I like best about this photo, the green moss, the single yellow leaf contrasting against the grey and greens or that it has layed in this same spot for so long that it's starting to become a part of the environment, mmm....

I keep forgetting what this flower is called.....but the petals are so soft....like feathers,

My daisies are blooming like crazy, twice the height they were last year, and a ton more flowers! These were shared from my
sisters garden, a year ago.
They say if you share plants from your garden with others, yours will grow even better! You should see my

My mom has a wonderful gift, she loves to paint.
One of her favorite things to paint are terra cotta pots, here's one she painted with ivy around the rim, it matches a beautiful shelf she painted and has handed down to me.

My Sisters Rose

Went to visit my big sis the other day, WOW are her gardens alive with color!
She planted these awesome roses just a few weeks ago and man-oh-man are they gorgeous, I love the black on the petals edges, it gives them an almost gothic look.

Sweet "Sweet William"

My flowers are growing like crazy!
I was fortunate to have these "Sweet William" (Dianthus) come back this year, normally their an annual in my neck of the woods.
I love the way they have an almost painted look!

Stormy Numbers?

A thunderstorm was brewing yesterday, so I thought I try to get some photos of it moving in. YEAH! Hoping to capture that perfect bolt of lightning or maybe some eerie grey thunderclouds.........well the storm blew off! :-( So I just kept on walking around my yard, camera in hand, taking shots of this and that.............Well maybe it's not a blazing lightning bolt or an ominous storm cloud, but I kinda like it!!

mmm....Chives

I had just finished watering my gardens, and these three chive flowers dappled with water droplets caught my eye so of course I grabbed the camera, tried some in color, but I was really amazed at the way the B&W shots made the flowers stand out.
