Snow Caps

I like how a freshly fallin snow finds its resting place, even the smallest seed heads are adorned with a cap of wintery white. :)

Colors in the Snow

Hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving had a wonderful day!
We had our first snowfall on Thanksgiving, and as I wandered my sisters yard enjoying the snow I spotted this tiny Johnny Jump-Up bursting with color against all our wintery white!

Spreading its Beauty

I like to let my plants go to seed in hopes for them to spread throughout the gardens or share the seeds with others. Here's a Coneflower (Echinacea) seedhead that has started to spread its beauty.

Golden Morning

Usually in the mornings I'm racing through the house getting ready for work...well this morning I was stopped dead in my tracks, the field out back was covered in fog and as the sun rose trying to break through the fog it cast this amazing glow.

Glow

Using the sunlit autumn yellows as a backdrop for this faded Black-Eyed Susan seemed to really enhance the seed head.
I find that faded flowers can be just a beautiful as when the flower was in full bloom!

Along the Trail

Dawn spotted these bright red berries along one of the trails we walked at the dam. The day was a bit overcast and with the fading colors of autumn the red really stood out. : )

Survival

Dawn brought me to this really cool local dam, with tons of walking trails. Last month this area was devastated with floods
In the spot that this photo was taken these Milkweed pods would have been under about 15 feet of raging water, nature amazes me more and more every day!

The Edge

OK, so I had not one taker on the raking party, guess I'm on my own.
Well today I went out with good intentions : )...but it was such a pretty day and well....I gotta say...more leaves got their photos taken then raked up!

Autumn Lace

My Niece Lolo took a photo looking out my window, with the focus totally on the lace curtians, well her photo really inspired me, so I just had to try my eye at it : )
